To avoid
Information Most doctors recommend to avoid eating tuna during pregnancy because it can contain high levels of mercury. Mercury is a toxic chemical that can be harmful to the development fetus. Pregnant women must therefore avoid the most rich in mercury varieties, such as albacore tuna or tuna with large eyes. However, pregnant women can eat tuna occasionally. Mercury varieties, such as red back tuna and Lista tuna, are considered safer. It is recommended not to eat more than two portions of these varieties per week. In conclusion, if you are pregnant, it is better to avoid albacore tuna and tuna with large eyes and to limit the tuna with red back and the Lista tuna to two portions per week. This will reduce the risk of mercury toxicity and ensure your baby's safety.
