Cheese
OK
Yes but...
To avoid
InformationThe answer to this question is no. Mont d'Or is a type of soft cheese produced in the French and Swiss Alps. It is characterized by its high content of fat and salt. Like all soft cheeses, Mont d'Or contains a higher concentration of bacteria than hard cheeses and, therefore, it is not recommended for pregnant women.
The bacteria present in Mont d'Or can be harmful to the mother's fetus and the immune system. The consumption of this cheese during pregnancy can increase the risk of toxoplasmosis, an infection caused by parasites that can cause serious health problems in baby.
Pregnant women must therefore avoid consuming Mont d'Or and other soft cheeses during their pregnancy. If you want cheese, opt for safer cheeses such as cheddar cheese, Swiss cheese and hard cheese. These cheeses are less likely to contain bacteria that can be harmful to the mother and the fetus.
